General Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for any India Post recruitment position, candidates must meet the general eligibility requirements that apply to all posts:
- Must be an Indian citizen as per Indian Constitution
- Must not be a citizen of any foreign country
- Should have permanent domicile in India

1. Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS)
- Educational Qualification: 10th Pass (Secondary School Certificate or equivalent)
- Age Limit: 18-40 years
- Physical Fitness: Able to walk 10 km per day
- Special Skills: Proficiency in local language/Hindi preferred
2. Branch Postmaster
- Educational Qualification: 12th Pass or Higher Secondary
- Age Limit: 20-45 years
- Experience: 1-2 years postal experience preferred
- Management Skills: Knowledge of financial management
3. Postman
- Educational Qualification: 10th Pass
- Age Limit: 18-40 years
- Physical Fitness: Able to carry mail bags and walk assigned routes
- Communication: Good interpersonal skills
4. Mail Guard
- Educational Qualification: 10th Pass
- Age Limit: 18-45 years
- Physical Fitness: High level of fitness for security duties
- Trust Factor: Excellent criminal and character background
5. Sorting Assistant
- Educational Qualification: 12th Pass
- Age Limit: 18-40 years
- Skills: Proficiency in categorization and organization
- Accuracy: High level of accuracy in mail sorting
6. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS)
- Educational Qualification: 10th Pass
- Age Limit: 18-40 years
- Flexibility: Ability to perform multiple roles
- Physical Fitness: Good health and stamina
Age Relaxation Policies
Candidates belonging to reserved categories are eligible for age relaxation as per government norms:

Physical Fitness Requirements
Height Requirements:
- Minimum height generally 157.5 cm (Both male and female)
- Some relaxation may be given for tribal candidates
Vision Requirements:
- Minimum corrected vision: 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in other eye
- Color blindness not acceptable for certain positions
Medical Fitness:
